Kids4Peace Boston is about leadership, action, and community - and this doesn't stop in a crisis. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has changed how the interfaith teens of K4PB come together, they continue to build their leadership skills and use them to make the world a better place. These dedicated teens are making peace and justice a priority in their busy lives, but they need your help to lead the way to a better future.
During recent K4PB@Home virtual programs, Boston-area middle and high school participants explored ways that COVID-19 is creating new (or exposing old) social justice challenges, and brainstormed how they could make an impact. They are turning their ideas into action by: building support for organizations that serve those affected by the crisis; standing up to racism exacerbated by the current situation; lobbying Massachusetts legislators to pass two Coronavirus relief bills that will aid some of the state's most vulnerable residents; and creating social media campaigns to raise awareness of these issues and others.
As the world experiences a continued rise of injustice, intolerance, and prejudice, the work of K4PB teens to cross divides and promote social change in Boston and beyond is needed more than ever before.
